ETHOS

" Music is so very personal to me, it's all about freedom of expression, pushing narratives and finding myself in different mediums. I also think of  musicians as caretakers, as holders of stories, keepers of traditions and as a critics of society. If music isn't challenging the narrative, then it's lacking in shifting culture and changing harmful norms.

My music is clear art with a message, a siren, a call and response that resonates within all of us. I want to bring more of that reverence back into music and the musicians that I'm connected to. Hip Hop especially is such a powerful style of music, as we can really narrate our own experiences and allow people a sneak peek into our psyche.

As an artist I really plan to be intentional about my music, my message, and the impact that my art has on others. Switch It Up is the perfect introduction, because I plan to Switch some shit up! Now with Shorty Wanna Slide,  I'm even more excited about the conversations that I'll be able to have. This one has the boys biting their nails (haha!)

VISION

I'm enjoying the experience of exploring the connection between different musical styles and Hip-Hop. Embracing artistic exploration, poetry, and fashion to create a multi-dimensional sensory experience. I've also been layering in my farming experience to influence my community, showing them the connection between the land, art, music and poetry. Music originated from the land, from okra used as shakers and animal skins for the first drums. The spirit of the land is still present in how we respond and relate to music on a chemical level. Using my grassroots ideology, I seek to break barriers with positive, fun and reflective music.
